Ice one Eagles
Close to 80 members of Canterbury Eagles squeezed on their skates for a group Christmas outing at Dane John Ice Rink on Sunday night.
There was a mixture of stumbling, skidding and screaming from the players and their families who were brave enough to take to the slippery surface, and a lot of laughing, pointing and ‘encouragement’ from those that stuck to the sidelines.
Some had clearly skated before and were whizzing round the arena like British Olympic gold medalists’ Torvill & Dean (well not quite, but we can dream) while others were content just to stay upright for a circuit! Thankfully everyone walked away without injury and we can still put full teams out when we return to action in the New Year.
Organised by Vice Chair (and U14s Manager) Tony Payne, it was a fantastic way to end the year and get the whole club celebrating Christmas together.
Eagles are taking a festive break for a couple of weeks, with training starting back on January 3rd.
