SATURDAY SOCCER

First steps into football for years R, 1, 2 and 3

WHERE?

St Edmund’s School, St Thomas Hill,
Canterbury CT2 8HU

WHEN?

Saturdays, 9.30am - 10.30am

Our ever-popular Saturday Soccer is the first stage on your child’s Canterbury Eagles journey and provides a pathway to Under 7 (Year 2) and Under 8 (Year 3) organised football.

Running every Saturday and supervised by FA/UEFA qualified coaches, the sessions provide children with a fun experience to learn about football through play. They’ll be supported in developing skills in teamwork; learning to respect and encourage others; ball control and decision-making in game-play scenarios.

The overriding aim of Saturday Soccer is that kids develop a love for the game! Children are supported to be safe and healthy both physically and mentally. We celebrate player development and promote emotional wellbeing through praise and encouragement within a team setting.

What to wear

Saturday Soccer takes place on the astro turf pitch at St Edmund’s, so children must wear either astro trainers or normal trainers. PLEASE no studded football boots.

Players should wear clothing appropriate for football and for the weather on the day.

Volunteering

Saturday Soccer is always keen to find new volunteer coaches. This becomes particularly important when players graduate from Saturday Soccer and form teams at u7 or u8 level, because these teams cannot exist without new coaches to run them. If you are interested in volunteering at Saturday Soccer please speak to our lead coach Dylan.
