Eagles celebrate home win for girls' football
We’re delighted to share the fab news that we’ve been approved by the FA to be a Wildcats Centre for girls’ football.
Dotted across the country, Wildcats football centres offer girls aged 5-11 a chance to try football for the first time and provide regular opportunities to play. And now we can offer that experience to the girls of Canterbury who want to come along, make friends, have fun and find their footballing feet.
As with the boys’ teams here at Eagles, all sessions will be delivered by FA qualified coaches and provide a safe place to play and develop key football skills. Staff are also trained to deliver a range of different activities to ensure that the girls’ sessions are varied and fun.
We’re kicking of our Wildcat sessions from Saturday 25 April (10-11am) at Simon Langton Girls’ Grammar School and sessions will run every Saturday throughout the summer term and then term time only thereafter. Lead coach is Jo Treharne, and she’ll be supported by a great team of female coaches. Cost is £3 payable on the day.
We need to gather info on how many and what ages we may have coming along, so if you’re interested please fill in our form (on the link below) so we can plan for our first session.
There’s lots more information about how Wildcats can help young girls enjoy their football, make new friends, boost confidence and all the other benefits an active lifestyle can bring, as well as suitable clothing and footwear advice, on the FA’s website.
Hope to see you in April when we kick-off with Wildcats.
