Team Coach
Overview
Our coaches are intrinsic to helping us deliver challenging yet rewarding experiences for all of our players, and maintaining good lines of communication with parents and with the club .
Our most visible and frontline volunteers, it is essential that all coaches embody the ethos of the club, modeling appropriate, respectful behaviour at all times, and providing thoughtful support and guidance to their players. Coaches are responsible for delivering fun, appropriate and well-prepared training sessions and ensuring that matches are organised and enjoyable experiences. They need to consistently provide appropriate levels of challenge, encouragement and support as our players develop on their footballing journey.
Coaches liaise with a wide range of other roles across the club, including fixture secretaries, to ensure match details are communicated, and welfare officers, if ever there are safeguarding concerns. They are the first point of contact between players and parents and the club, so they need a good understanding of how the club operates and are expected to pass on important club-wide information.
Coaches are required to have passed the FA’s Introduction to Coaching Football (or FA Level 1) qualification, or to be actively working towards it. Course fees are reimbursed by the club upon completion. They also need to have completed the FA’s Safeguarding Children module in order to be able to coach.
