Fixtures Secretary

Overview

Our fixtures secretaries communicate match details between club and opposition teams.

This role is vital to the running of the club, ensuring pitches and referees are in place, confirming match details with away teams, and acting as the conduit between opposition clubs and our own team coaches to ensure matchday details are received.

The fixtures secretaries collaborate closely with the Club Secretary and Referees Co-ordinator, working a week in advance to confirm match day details with opposition clubs and our coaches.

Each secretary is allocated a range of teams to oversee during the season. Developing strong relationships with managers, coaches and other administrative volunteers is essential in ensuring smooth matchday administration.

Key duties

  • Communicate, via email and other messaging tools, with our coaches to confirm matches and relay key details from opposition clubs

  • Communicate with opposition fixture secretaries to confirm home matchday details

  • Liaise with the club secretary to confirm available pitches and support in booking

  • Communicate with the Referees Co-Ordinator to ensure refs are booked for home matches

Expected hours of the role (per week)

The club aims to have league and cup matches confirmed by the Tuesday before any given weekend match, but communication will occur at various points during the week. The role is expected to take 2 to 3 hours per week.
